A forged street elbow has a male thread on one end and a female thread on the other. Because it screws directly into another fitting, it removes the need for a separate nipple and makes a tighter turn than a standard elbow and nipple. Raaj Fittings manufactures and exports 90° and 45° street elbows to ASME B16.11, with NPT or BSP threads, in stainless steel, duplex, nickel alloys, carbon steel and alloy steel.
Street elbows are used in threaded small-bore systems where space is tight — at gauge and instrument connections, on compact manifolds and at equipment ports — and wherever one fewer joint means one fewer potential leak.
All street elbows are supplied with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates, with 3.2 certification and third-party inspection on request.
We export forged street elbows to EPC contractors, plant operators and stockists across the Middle East and GCC, Europe and the Americas — with NPT threads for US and Gulf projects or BSP threads where European and Middle Eastern specifications call for them.

(UNS N08020) Engineered for sulfuric acid and aggressive chemical process service
Exceptional corrosion resistance in seawater and oxidising media at low density
Carbon steel is the standard material for forged fittings in general-purpose, hydrocarbon, steam, and elevated-temperature service. The primary grade for forged carbon steel fittings is ASTM A105.
Primary grade for forged carbon steel fittings and flanges — covers ambient and elevated-temperature service in pressurised piping systems.
Low-temperature carbon steel, impact-tested for service down to -46°C (-50°F) — LNG, cold climate, and cryogenic piping applications.
Low-temperature carbon steel, impact-tested to -101°C (-150°F) — for the most demanding cold-temperature service applications.
Chromium-molybdenum alloy steel grades for high-temperature, high-pressure service in power generation, petrochemical, and refinery applications. All grades supplied to ASTM A182 specification.
(5% Cr · ½% Mo) Refinery hydroprocessing and high-temperature service
(9% Cr · 1% Mo) High-temperature steam and hydrogen-rich process service
(1¼% Cr · ½% Mo) Thermal power plant steam, feedwater, and reheat piping
(2¼% Cr · 1% Mo) Reactors and high-temperature pressure piping in petrochemical plants
(9% Cr · 1% Mo · V · Nb) Ultra-supercritical power plant main steam and hot reheat piping
To turn a threaded connection through 90° with standard fittings, you need a nipple and a forged 90° elbow — two parts and two threaded joints. A street elbow screws straight into the female port and provides a female outlet at 90° or 45°, with one joint and a shorter overall reach.
Street elbows are common where a pressure gauge, switch or transmitter must face a particular way, where a drain must point downwards from a side port, and on compact hydraulic and pneumatic manifolds. Several street elbows can be combined to route a connection around an obstruction without additional nipples.
As with all threaded fittings, use a thread sealant suitable for the fluid and temperature, and confirm that threaded connections are permitted in your piping specification for the service. For high-pressure hazardous lines, socket weld fittings are generally preferred. Specify NPT or BSP, since the two thread forms do not mate.
When ordering, give the size, angle (90° or 45°), class, thread form and material grade — for example ½" 90° street elbow, Class 3000, NPT, ASTM A182 F316L. Street elbows are frequently ordered together with bushings, plugs and nipples for complete instrument hook-up kits, and can be supplied cleaned and bagged for instrument and gas service.

Street elbows are produced under our quality assurance process:
Supplied with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates; EN 10204 3.2 certificates and third-party inspection are available on request.
Fittings are packed for export with plastic caps protecting threads and sockets, rust-preventive or VCI wrapping on carbon and alloy steel, and seaworthy wooden cases; marking, tagging and packing to your specification are available on request.
Raaj Sagar Steels has supplied piping components since 2003 and today manufactures forged fittings at two plants in India for buyers in the Middle East, Europe and the Americas.
A street elbow is a threaded elbow with a male thread on one end and a female thread on the other, so it can screw directly into another fitting without a nipple.
Street elbows are made in 90° and 45° to ASME B16.11.
It replaces an elbow and a nipple with one fitting, saving a threaded joint and bringing the outlet closer to the port.
Forged street elbows are supplied in Class 3000 and Class 6000 with NPT or BSP threads.
Street elbows are threaded fittings. For socket weld systems, use a standard socket weld elbow with a short pipe nipple.
Carbon steel ASTM A105 and A350 LF2, stainless steel ASTM A182 F304 to F347, alloy steel ASTM A182 F5 to F91, duplex and super duplex (F51, F53, F55) and nickel alloys such as Inconel 625 and Monel 400.
Yes. We supply forged street elbows for projects under the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED 2014/68/EU), and with IBR certification for Indian boiler applications. NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 compliant material is also available on request for sour service in the Middle East and the Americas.
Other forged fittings we manufacture and export in the same materials and standards.
