A pipe nipple is a short length of pipe, threaded on one or both ends or left plain for welding, used to connect two fittings, valves or pieces of equipment that are close together. Raaj Fittings manufactures and exports pipe nipples from seamless pipe in stainless steel, duplex, nickel alloys, carbon steel and alloy steel, in schedules from SCH 40 to XXS.
Nipples are the connectors of small-bore piping. They join a valve to a tee, a gauge to a process connection, or a drain valve to its outlet, and they come in standard lengths from the shortest close nipple upwards, as well as cut to the exact length a hook-up needs.
All nipples are supplied with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates, with 3.2 certification and third-party inspection on request.
We export pipe nipples to EPC contractors, plant operators and stockists across the Middle East and GCC, Europe and the Americas — with NPT threads for US and Gulf projects or BSP threads where European and Middle Eastern specifications call for them.

(UNS N08020) Engineered for sulfuric acid and aggressive chemical process service
Exceptional corrosion resistance in seawater and oxidising media at low density
Carbon steel is the standard material for forged fittings in general-purpose, hydrocarbon, steam, and elevated-temperature service. The primary grade for forged carbon steel fittings is ASTM A105.
Primary grade for forged carbon steel fittings and flanges — covers ambient and elevated-temperature service in pressurised piping systems.
Low-temperature carbon steel, impact-tested for service down to -46°C (-50°F) — LNG, cold climate, and cryogenic piping applications.
Low-temperature carbon steel, impact-tested to -101°C (-150°F) — for the most demanding cold-temperature service applications.
Chromium-molybdenum alloy steel grades for high-temperature, high-pressure service in power generation, petrochemical, and refinery applications. All grades supplied to ASTM A182 specification.
(5% Cr · ½% Mo) Refinery hydroprocessing and high-temperature service
(9% Cr · 1% Mo) High-temperature steam and hydrogen-rich process service
(1¼% Cr · ½% Mo) Thermal power plant steam, feedwater, and reheat piping
(2¼% Cr · 1% Mo) Reactors and high-temperature pressure piping in petrochemical plants
(9% Cr · 1% Mo · V · Nb) Ultra-supercritical power plant main steam and hot reheat piping
Cutting a thread removes metal, so threaded nipples are usually made in a heavier wall than the pipe they connect — typically SCH 80 or SCH 160 — to keep enough strength at the root of the thread. Schedule 160 and XXS nipples are common in high-pressure vent, drain and instrument connections. Specify the schedule along with size, length, end types and thread form.
Nipples connect to threaded couplings, tees and elbows, and to unions where the assembly must come apart. Where the size changes, a swage nipple joins two different pipe sizes in one piece. Short nipples used as vents and drains are particularly prone to vibration fatigue, so heavier walls and good bracing are recommended.
When ordering, give the size, schedule, length or nipple type, the end preparation at each end and the thread form — for example ¾" SCH 160 × 100 mm long, TOE NPT, ASTM A106 Gr. B seamless. Nipples are commonly ordered together with matching valves, couplings and caps for complete vent and drain assemblies.

Raaj Sagar Steels has supplied piping components since 2003 and today manufactures forged fittings at two plants in India for buyers in the Middle East, Europe and the Americas.
A pipe nipple is a short length of pipe, threaded on one or both ends or plain for welding, used to connect two closely spaced fittings, valves or pieces of equipment.
A close nipple is threaded along its whole length with no plain section, giving the shortest possible connection between two female threaded fittings.
TBE is threaded both ends, TOE is threaded one end (the other plain or bevelled), and PBE is plain both ends.
Usually heavier than the line pipe — SCH 80 or SCH 160 — because the thread reduces the wall thickness. XXS is used for very high pressures.
Yes. Besides standard close, short and long lengths, nipples can be cut to any length you specify.
Yes. We supply pipe nipples for projects under the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED 2014/68/EU), and with IBR certification for Indian boiler applications. NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 compliant material is also available on request for sour service in the Middle East and the Americas.
Other forged fittings we manufacture and export in the same materials and standards.
