3000# forged fittings, properly called Class 3000 fittings, are forged steel fittings made to ASME B16.11 (socket weld and threaded) and used for the most common small-bore process, refinery and utility piping. The class is not a pressure in psi: it tells you which pipe wall the fitting matches, and the fitting is then rated the same as that pipe.
Raaj Fittings forges and machines Class 3000 fittings at our two plants in India in carbon, low-temperature, alloy and stainless steel, duplex and nickel alloys, and exports them across the Middle East, Europe and the Americas.
| End connection | Matching pipe |
|---|---|
| Socket weld | SCH 80 / XS |
| Threaded | SCH 160 |
Choose the fitting class from the pipe schedule, not from the operating pressure: a Class 3000 fitting on the matching pipe is at least as strong as the pipe itself, and the joint is rated as the pipe.
Every Class 3000 fitting is made from PMI-verified material, dimensionally inspected against the ordered standard and marked with material, size, rating and heat number. Orders are supplied with EN 10204 3.1 certificates; EN 10204 3.2 certification and inspection by the buyer's nominated third-party agency are available on request.
It is the ASME B16.11 class designation, Class 3000. It is not a pressure rating in psi; it matches the fitting to a pipe wall thickness, and the fitting is rated the same as that pipe.
Socket weld Class 3000 fittings match SCH 80 / XS pipe. Threaded Class 3000 fittings match SCH 160 pipe.
Most small-bore process pipe is SCH 80, and Class 3000 is the socket weld class that matches it, so 3000# fittings are the default in many piping specifications.
Carbon steel A105, low-temperature A350 LF2 and LF3, alloy steel F11 / F22 / F91, stainless steel F304L / F316L and others, duplex F51 / F53 / F55 and nickel alloys.
