A flare fitting joins tubing by flaring the tube end into a cone that is clamped against a matching cone on the fitting body, giving a metal-to-metal seal. Raaj Fittings manufactures and exports 37° flare fittings to SAE J514 and ISO 8434-2 (JIC) and 45° flare fittings, in stainless steel and carbon steel, for hydraulic, refrigeration and high-pressure pneumatic tubing.
Flare fittings are valued where joints are taken apart often: the flared cone can be disconnected and remade many times without losing its seal. 37° JIC fittings are the standard in North American hydraulic practice and on much mobile and industrial equipment, while 45° flares are common in refrigeration and fuel lines.
All flare fittings are supplied with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates and full material traceability.
We export flare fittings to instrumentation contractors, OEMs and distributors across the Middle East and GCC, Europe and the Americas, in metric and imperial tube sizes with NPT or BSP ends to suit each market.

We supply flare fittings in the following materials and grades. All grades are supplied with EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2 Mill Test Certificates.
Stainless steel is the standard material for instrumentation tube fittings across oil and gas, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and offshore applications. SS 316L is the most widely specified grade.
The industry default for instrumentation tube fittings — low carbon content prevents sensitisation; molybdenum addition provides superior chloride and acid resistance versus 304 grades.
Superior chloride and acid resistance — used where chloride exposure, marine atmosphere, or mild chemical service requires better corrosion resistance than 304.
General corrosion resistance at lower cost than 316L — suitable for water, steam, mild chemical, and food-grade applications where chloride exposure is limited.
Carbon steel tube fittings are used in hydraulic systems, compressed air, general industrial service, and non-corrosive process applications where stainless steel is not required.
Precision-machined carbon steel bar stock — used in hydraulic circuits, compressed air distribution, and general industrial instrumentation where corrosion resistance is not required.
Electroplated zinc or phosphated finish for enhanced surface corrosion protection — used in carbon steel DIN 2353 hydraulic fittings and general instrumentation in non-aggressive environments.
The tube end is expanded with a flaring tool into a cone of the correct angle. A sleeve and nut are slid onto the tube before flaring. When the nut is tightened onto the fitting body, it pushes the flared tube end against the matching male cone of the body, forming a cone-to-cone metal seal. Because the seal is between two machined cones, it can be broken and remade repeatedly.
The two angles do not mate with each other. 37° JIC flare fittings are the norm for hydraulic systems; 45° flare fittings are used mainly in refrigeration, air-conditioning and some fuel and gas lines. Always confirm the flare angle and thread of the mating component before ordering.
For metric hydraulic systems built to European practice, DIN 2353 bite type fittings are common. For instrumentation tubing, double ferrule compression fittings are generally preferred, as they need no flaring tool and seal reliably on gases. Flare fittings remain the best choice where JIC components are already standard on the equipment.
Correct flaring is essential to a leak-free joint. The tube must be cut square, deburred and flared with a tool of the right angle so that the cone is concentric, smooth and free of cracks. Tubing for flaring should be ductile — annealed stainless steel or suitable carbon steel hydraulic tube — with a wall thickness within the range the flare standard allows. Flare fittings can be supplied with matching sleeves and nuts so that every joint uses components made to the same standard.
When ordering, give the flare angle, tube OD, configuration, port thread and material grade. See all tube fittings.
Flare fittings are produced under our quality assurance process:
Supplied with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates; EN 10204 3.2 certificates and third-party inspection on request.
Fittings are capped and bagged to keep ports clean, then boxed and packed in seaworthy wooden cases for export; marking, tagging and packing to your specification are available on request.
Raaj Sagar Steels has supplied piping components since 2003 and today manufactures tube fittings at two plants in India for buyers in the Middle East, Europe and the Americas.
A flare fitting seals a tube by clamping its flared, cone-shaped end against a matching cone on the fitting body, giving a metal-to-metal seal.
JIC refers to the 37° flare fitting standardised in SAE J514 and ISO 8434-2, widely used in hydraulic systems.
No. The cone angles are different and will not seal against each other.
They can be disconnected and remade many times without losing their seal, which suits equipment that needs frequent maintenance.
Stainless steel for corrosive and marine service, and carbon steel (plated) for general hydraulic use.
Yes. We supply flare fittings for projects under the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED 2014/68/EU), with EN 10204 3.1 certificates as standard and 3.2 on request. NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 compliant material is available for sour service in the Middle East and the Americas.
Other tube fittings we manufacture and export in the same materials and standards.
