JIS B2220 is the Japanese Industrial Standard for steel pipe flanges. It rates flanges by "K" designations, from 5K to 63K, and is found on ships, plants and equipment built in Japan and the wider Asia-Pacific region, including shipyards, refineries and power plants that use Japanese machinery.

JIS B2220 uses nominal pressure designations of 5K, 10K, 16K, 20K, 30K, 40K and 63K. The number is related to the pressure in kgf/cm², but the allowable pressure depends on material and temperature. 5K, 10K and 16K are the most common ratings in marine and general industrial piping; 20K and above are used in higher-pressure process service.

Sizes are given by nominal diameter in "A" (millimetre) designations, such as 50A or 100A, with the "B" inch equivalents (2B, 4B). Flat face (FF) and raised face (RF) are the common facings. JIS flanges do not bolt to ASME B16.5 or EN 1092-1 flanges, because their outside diameters, bolt circles and bolt sizes differ.
Common JIS flange materials include SS400 and S20C / SF440A carbon steel and SUS304 / SUS316 stainless steel; equivalent ASTM grades are supplied where the purchaser accepts them.
Every JIS flange is made from PMI-verified material, dimensionally inspected against the ordered standard and marked with material, size, rating and heat number. Orders are supplied with EN 10204 3.1 certificates; EN 10204 3.2 certification and inspection by the buyer's nominated third-party agency are available on request.
