DIN flanges are the German national flange standards that were used throughout Europe and much of the world before EN 1092-1 replaced them. Although the DIN standards have been withdrawn, plants built to them are still running, and replacement flanges to DIN 2573, DIN 2576 and DIN 2631 to 2638 are still ordered every day for maintenance, revamps and OEM equipment.
Raaj Fittings manufactures DIN flanges at our two plants in India in carbon and stainless steel and other grades, made to the original DIN dimensions so they bolt to existing equipment.
| Standard | Flange | Pressure |
|---|---|---|
| DIN 2573 | Plate flange for welding | PN 6 |
| DIN 2576 | Plate flange for welding | PN 10 |
| DIN 2631 | Weld neck flange | PN 6 |
| DIN 2632 | Weld neck flange | PN 10 |
| DIN 2633 | Weld neck flange | PN 16 |
| DIN 2634 | Weld neck flange | PN 25 |
| DIN 2635 | Weld neck flange | PN 40 |
| DIN 2636 | Weld neck flange | PN 64 |
| DIN 2637 | Weld neck flange | PN 100 |
| DIN 2638 | Weld neck flange | PN 160 |
| DIN 2527 | Blind flange | PN 6 to PN 100 |
When EN 1092-1 replaced the DIN standards, most flange dimensions were carried over, but there are differences in some sizes, facings and materials. For replacement flanges, the safest approach is to order to the standard shown on the original drawing or nameplate, or send us the measured dimensions (outside diameter, bolt circle, number and size of bolt holes, thickness and bore), and we will confirm the match.
Original DIN flanges were often specified in RSt 37-2, C22.8 or St 37.0 carbon steel, and in 1.4541, 1.4571 and 1.4404 stainless steel. Today, modern equivalents such as P250GH, S235JR or the matching ASTM grades are supplied where the purchaser accepts them.
Every DIN flange is made from PMI-verified material, dimensionally inspected against the ordered standard and marked with material, size, rating and heat number. Orders are supplied with EN 10204 3.1 certificates; EN 10204 3.2 certification and inspection by the buyer's nominated third-party agency are available on request.
The DIN flange standards were withdrawn and replaced by EN 1092-1, but DIN flanges are still widely ordered as replacements and for equipment designed to the original standards.
DIN 2633 is the weld neck flange for PN 16. DIN 2632 is PN 10, DIN 2634 is PN 25 and DIN 2635 is PN 40.
They are very similar and often interchangeable, but some sizes and details differ. Check dimensions against the mating flange or drawing before ordering.
Yes. Send the drawing or the measured dimensions and material, and we will confirm the standard and make flanges to match.
