IS 6392 is the Indian Standard specification for steel pipe flanges. It is used in Indian water supply, power, process and industrial plants and in equipment built for the Indian market, alongside ASME, EN and DIN flanges on projects that mix international and Indian standards.
Raaj Fittings manufactures IS 6392 flanges at our two plants in India in carbon steel, stainless steel and other grades, for Indian project contractors, OEMs and plant maintenance teams, and for export customers replacing flanges on Indian-built equipment.
IS 6392 specifies the dimensions of steel flanges for pipes, valves and fittings in nominal pressure ratings, including plate (slip-on) flanges for welding, weld neck flanges and blind flanges. The tables give outside diameter, thickness, bolt circle, and the number and size of bolt holes for each nominal size and pressure.
IS 6392 flanges are not interchangeable with ASME B16.5 flanges. Some sizes and ratings are close to the European PN flanges, but dimensions should always be checked against the mating flange or drawing before ordering.
Every IS 6392 flange is made from PMI-verified material, dimensionally inspected against the ordered standard and marked with material, size, rating and heat number. Orders are supplied with EN 10204 3.1 certificates; EN 10204 3.2 certification and inspection by the buyer's nominated third-party agency are available on request.
