Our buttweld fittings — including elbows, tees, reducers, end caps, stub ends, return bends, and crosses — are manufactured in seamless and welded construction across carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, duplex, super duplex, and nickel alloys. Every fitting conforms to ASME B16.9, ASME B16.28, and MSS SP-75, and is available in sizes from ½" NPS to 72" NPS (DN 15 to DN 1800) and wall thicknesses from SCH 5S to XXS. Our buttweld fittings are trusted by engineers and procurement teams in oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, offshore, pharmaceutical, and water treatment industries across more than 60 countries.

Buttweld Pipe Fittings Manufacturer

Types of Buttweld Fittings We Manufacture

We manufacture and export the complete range of buttweld pipe fittings to ASME B16.9 and ASME B16.28, in all standard sizes, wall thicknesses, materials, and end configurations — in seamless and welded (ERW / EFW / DSAW) construction.

90° Long Radius Elbow ASME B16.9
90° Long Radius Elbow

Changes flow direction 90° with centreline radius R = 1.5D. Minimises pressure drop and turbulence — the standard choice for most process piping systems. Manufactured to ASME B16.9.

90° Short Radius Elbow ASME B16.28
90° Short Radius Elbow

Centreline radius R = 1D for compact direction change in space-constrained layouts. Specified where long radius elbows cannot be accommodated. Manufactured to ASME B16.28.

45° Buttweld Elbow ASME B16.9
45° Elbow

Changes flow direction by 45°. Used in combination with 90° elbows for specific pipe routing configurations. Generates lower pressure drop than a 90° elbow. Manufactured to ASME B16.9.

180° Long Radius Return Bend ASME B16.9
180° Long Radius Return Bend

Reverses flow 180° with centreline radius R = 1.5D. Used in heat exchanger headers, furnace coils, and multi-pass piping systems. Manufactured to ASME B16.9.

180° Short Radius Return Bend ASME B16.28
180° Short Radius Return Bend

Compact 180° flow reversal with centreline radius R = 1D. Ideal for space-limited installations where a long radius loop is not feasible. Manufactured to ASME B16.28.

Equal Tee Buttweld Fitting ASME B16.9
Equal Tee

All three openings are the same nominal pipe size. Used to branch off 90° from the main pipe run while maintaining full bore flow in both the run and the branch. Manufactured to ASME B16.9.

Reducing Tee Buttweld Fitting ASME B16.9
Reducing Tee

Branch outlet is smaller than the main run. Eliminates the need for a separate reducer at the branch connection. Available in a wide range of run × branch size combinations. Manufactured to ASME B16.9.

Concentric Reducer Buttweld Fitting ASME B16.9
Concentric Reducer

Reduces pipe bore with both ends centred on the same axis. Used in vertical piping and horizontal lines where centreline alignment is essential. Manufactured to ASME B16.9.

Eccentric Reducer Buttweld Fitting ASME B16.9
Eccentric Reducer

One side kept flat — pipe axes are offset. Flat-bottom (FOB) prevents air pocketing on pump suction lines; flat-top (FOT) facilitates drainage in horizontal piping. Manufactured to ASME B16.9.

End Cap Buttweld Fitting ASME B16.9
End Cap (Pipe Cap)

Welded onto the open end of a pipe to seal it permanently. Used for pressure testing, system commissioning, and permanent pipe terminations in all process piping systems. Manufactured to ASME B16.9.

Stub End Lap Joint End ASME B16.9
Stub End (Lap Joint End)

Used with a Lap Joint Flange that rotates freely for easy bolt-hole alignment. Reduces material costs by pairing alloy stub ends with carbon steel backing flanges. Manufactured to ASME B16.9.

Cross 4-Way Buttweld Fitting ASME B16.9
Cross (4-Way Fitting)

Four openings at 90° — two in the run direction and two as branch connections. Used where two branches are required from the same point on the main pipe run. Manufactured to ASME B16.9.

Lateral Tee Wye Fitting ASME B16.9
Lateral Tee / Wye (Y-Fitting)

Branch exits at 45° to the main run — reduces flow turbulence and pressure drop at the branch junction versus a standard 90° tee. Suitable for high-velocity fluid and slurry systems. Manufactured to ASME B16.9.

Frequently Asked Questions

Buttweld Fittings

ASME B16.9 is the primary standard covering factory-made wrought buttwelding fittings including long radius elbows (R = 1.5D), tees, reducers, caps, stub ends, and return bends. ASME B16.28 specifically covers short radius 90° elbows and 180° returns (R = 1D), which are not covered under B16.9. Both standards are dimensionally compatible and are widely used together on the same piping projects.

Seamless (SMLS) fittings are formed from a solid billet or tube with no weld seam — providing uniform mechanical properties throughout. Welded fittings are formed from plate with a longitudinal weld seam, which is subject to radiographic or ultrasonic examination. Seamless fittings are preferred for critical, high-pressure, and sour service; welded fittings are cost-effective for general and larger-diameter piping applications.

A concentric reducer has both ends centred on the same pipe axis — used in vertical piping and where centreline alignment is required. An eccentric reducer has one flat side, so the centreline of the two pipe ends is offset. Flat-bottom (FOB) eccentric reducers are used on horizontal pump suction lines to prevent air pocketing; flat-top (FOT) facilitates gravity drainage in horizontal process lines.

The wall thickness must match the pipe it is butt-welded to. Schedule is determined by the pipe's design pressure, temperature, material grade, and the applicable piping code (ASME B31.3, B31.1, B31.4, or B31.8). Common schedules are SCH 40 (standard), SCH 80 (extra heavy), and SCH 160. SCH 10 and 5S are used for light-wall stainless steel sanitary and instrumentation piping systems.

A Stub End is butt-welded to the pipe at its bevelled end; a Lap Joint Flange slides over the pipe and rotates freely around the stub end lap, allowing easy bolt-hole alignment and quick disassembly without rotating the pipe. It is specified for systems requiring frequent dismantling for cleaning or inspection, and allows the use of an expensive alloy stub end paired with a less costly carbon steel backing flange — reducing overall material costs significantly.

Yes. We supply buttweld fittings manufactured from NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156-compliant materials with controlled hardness values. For carbon steel ASTM A234 WPB, hardness is controlled to ≤ 22 HRC (≤ 237 HB). Stainless steel grades (SS 316L), duplex 2205, super duplex 2507, and Inconel 625 are also available with NACE compliance. Material test certificates confirming chemical composition, mechanical properties, and hardness are provided with every order.
